I have often been asked by friends for my recipe for classic mincemeat and this is it. Actually, it is not really a fixed recipe as I tweak it every year and will probably do so forever, but grew out of a family recipe and ideas from various cookbooks.

My family devours these meatballs. Personally, I prefer to use a 50/50 ratio of minced beef and pork. I like to add nutmeg and allspice to the mixture which goes well with pork.
